| Landscaping for the Discriminating Home Owner
The right landscaping allows you to create an environment that matches both the architecture of your home and your own personality. As a discriminating homeowner, you know that professional landscaping also can protect and enhance the value of your home. This client wanted to update and renovate the existing landscaping. In the front, we added bright seasonal flowers to accent the brick driveway. We also replaced large trees which hid the house with two perfectly matched weeping white pines, each over 8 feet tall. The existing pool area was plagued with grading and drainage problems that affected the quality of the lawn. After re-grading and repairing the irrigation system we re-sodded the lawn and replanted colorful plants and flowers. Finally, as a backdrop to the pool area, we used seasonal plantings for a splash of color and palm trees in urns to create a relaxing summer retreat. Although the English garden in the backyard had good structure, it lacked appeal. Bright yellow flowers were added as accents to bring out the interesting pattern.
